Mission
The TTC promotes career development opportunities for direct service workers* and their supervisors engaged with Alaska Mental Health Trust beneficiaries, by ensuring that technical assistance and training is accessible and coordinated by:
-
Leading and partnering with training entities (Goal 1)
-
Brokering and facilitating non academic training based on identified training gaps and provider need (Goal 2)
-
Utilizing tools that assist with training delivery (Goal 3)
*Direct service worker is a position that requires a bachelor’s degree or less and works at least 75% directly with consumers.
Vision
The workforce for Trust Beneficiaries is educated and trained to support their communities and families across the life span.
Purpose
- To improve access to training & coordinate existing training opportunities
- To identify training needs and support the development and delivery of training with emphasis on distance delivery
————————————————————————————————————————————————
Why did we get started?
There is a lack of access to education and training for agencies and their staff serving Trust beneficiaries, especially small agencies and agencies in rural areas of the state. As a result the workforce need is far greater than the availability of training and skilled workers.
