March - Advanced Management of Brain Disorders

Learn techniques and skills to improve your work with individuals who have a brain disorder. Presented by Anchorage Neuropsychologist Dr. Deborah Gideon, this 8 week, distance delivered training beginning in March, provides direct support providers tools to enhance the care of people with a brain disorder. April 14, 2010 in Anchorage -Traumatic Brain Injuries and Vocational Rehabilitation: Tools for Successful Re-employment

Save the Date! Designed specifically for Vocation Rehabilitation Counselors, this one day training event in Anchorage offers professionals information and resources to enhance their re-employment efforts with individuals who have a traumatic brain injury. Introduction to Traumatic Brain Injury course

The second group of students just completed this three credit hour course. Taught by Alaska Neuropsychologist, Dr. Keith Youngblood, the course began on October 6 with the final meeting on December 8. Fifteen students received scholarships through generous funding from the State of AK Division of Seniors and Disabilities. All scholarship recipients live and serve individuals with traumatic brain injuries throughout the state.

Since April 2009, a total of 29 students have received a scholarship to complete this course. Take a look at some of the presentations students designed….
